Donating Blood

Money can't buy everything. Now with my spouse desperately needing blood, I finally understand that the only manufacturer of blood is the human body. While the blood bank can provide blood for a cost, I can't go out and buy some in a store to replace it. I can't even donate it because of the medications I am on. We will get through this, but I realize now just how important it is to donate blood. Back when I could have given blood, I always subscribed to the idea that someone else would donate it and they didn't need mine. I was wrong. Giving blood is giving the gift of life, the most precious gift there is, and the most unselfish act there is. I wish I had given when I could have, and I wish I could give now.
