Heart Bypass Surgery

Can their be anything more frightening than placing your heart and your life in the hands of a surgeon. Dad Tate Sr. has done just that, and we are all frightened by it. He had the surgery 6 days ago, and is not doing well. It's the elevator syndrome that bothers me the most. One minute we are told he is showing some signs of improvement, and the next minute we are told that we should say our good-bye's because he will die any moment. Perhaps this is why doctors practice medicine - it would be nice if they finally got it right and didn't practice any more. In the mean time, all we can really do is sit back and wait, and pray for his recovery and well being. He is surrounded by family at all times, so having one or two more or less there will accomplish nothing. It's in God's hands now, and we will have to wait for the outcome. In the meantime, we continue to shed our tears.
