I saved a life this week

This week I went with 100 7th and 8th graders up to Prescott for 3 days. We didn't expect the weather we had - 28 degrees, occasional snow, no humidity, blowing wind, high altitude - everything an asthmatic should not be exposed to. You can probably guess what happened - one of the students had an acute asthma attack, and almost died. I did as I was trained to do, and in the process saved her life, but I can't help but think that a higher power was looking down from above and making sure that all was ok. Besides, what else could I have done? There was no way I wanted to call a parent and tell them that their daughter died while in my care. That would have been to horrible to even begin to think of. I'm glad I could use my training, but I sure hope to never have to confront something like this again. Rickey Lynn
